painting. Painting became her saving grace, her escape, and her way of healing. It sped her recovery.
Self-taught at first, Maggie has read mountains of books and has since attended various classes on different and unique art forms in an effort to continue to expand her knowledge and grow in her art. As a result, she has received certifications in Professional Faux Finishing in 2000 and Mural Painting and Perspective in 2001.
Maggie is a firm believer in the importance of the arts in our lives. Whether it is music, painting, dance, theater, or creative writing to name a few; the arts play a fundamental ingredient to our mental and physical state and our over-all well being. She explains, “It is through art that we can express our joys and sorrows and use it as a tool towards the healing of self and others.”
Maggie enjoys painting in oil, acrylics and watercolor. She enjoys the many forms of art styles and likes to experiment with each. She also enjoys painting on many different types of surfaces. Chairs are one of her favorite objects to paint on. They not only serve as functional, but when she is through, she has turned an otherwise mundane piece of furniture into a beautiful piece of art custom made for any decor.
